"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, 'Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.' " (Revelation 12: 7-12)

There are many individuals, on this planet, who pursue the spiritual way. They perceive that things are not what they seem, and that there is a spiritual reality that, if tapped into, can alter the human experience for the better. Often, each individual tends to have a spiritual focus: some pursue spiritual brotherhood and peace for the planet; some concentrate on spreading the word of God's invisible presence and power, making them speakers and preachers of the light as they see it; still others, in order to help heal the ills of this world, try to comprehend and duplicate the actual healings which resulted from the spiritual knowledge possessed by Christ Jesus and his disciples.

Those who have chosen the path of such spiritual healing (or if the divine Spirit has chosen them) sooner or later realize that the war in heaven, written in the biblical book of Revelation and printed above, is really depicting the contest between the spiritual truth of God and the material falsities of this world. It is a war taking place in the consciousness of every individual 'born' in this place. This is the only real battleground that is being fought anywhere on earth. This is the seeming battle between God, the Creator of all Truth, and satan, the symbol for any belief system which lies against this spiritual truth.

It may appear that we have many evils to fight, multiple foes to our peace and harmony, an infinite number of evils to contend with in our lives. The fact remains, however, that there is only one war going on in this human condition, and that is the cosmic war in consciousness between the false, physical sense of existence, and the spiritual truth of existence as known to the divine Intelligence of God.

This false sense of our being separated from the divine Spirit and Intelligence of God, our only Creator and Source, produces all the ills that humanity will ever face. The sense of materiality immediately brings a false sense of mortality, for all matter changes and can "die" and decay when deserted by consciousness. Thus, having accepted a belief in physical life, body and being, we've also accepted a temporary sense of ourselves--selves that we expect to be vulnerable and bound for destruction.

The reason that those on the spiritual healing path can identify the war of the cosmos as merely the battle between spiritual truth and material falsehood is simple: In the healing practice, they've learned that what is experienced as physical healing occurs when the lie of physical conditions (or states of being) are thrown out of consciousness in favor of the spiritual truth of being. They begin to understand that as God's spiritual child, no one is really mortal or material in the first place, to be sick, aging, injured, or dying in the second place. Eternal life means without beginning or end. Thus, it's contradictory to believe we "die" into immortality, since we've never been anything else but immortal. But that immortal self is spiritual, not material; and we must learn to know that this higher Self is with us, right where the physical self appears to be, but is not. We must discover our true identity as a child and off-spring of God.

Material birth and death are both the created illusions of satan--the great lie that someone took the spiritual reality of God's perfect, ever-lasting creation (along with His children), and recreated it on a physical plane, away from God and Its heaven. This belief produces an embryonic, then infant form, seemingly devoid of spiritual memory of real selfhood. We then grow in this "new" selfhood, taking on all the ridiculous beliefs of the world that were thrust upon us: beliefs of physical heredity, limited senses and intelligence, faulty memories, bad traits; whatever we've accepted becomes our human identity. Then, we act out this identity in the world arena.

Christ Jesus once addressed this material state of mind, which permits evil in creation, when he said to some followers, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not." (John 8: 44, 45)

Jesus knew the real battleground to be the spiritual Truth of existence versus the human lies of existence. He was our brother, showing us our real selves--our spiritual selves. The collective thinking of the world didn't perceive his message to any large degree, but those who did spread it far and wide. It has traveled well through time.

The spiritual healing path is a lifetime experience, but I've never seen a day that didn't bring one more step. We prove many things through many healings. For physical healing, we come to know that we are always at one with our spiritual source which is perpetually renewing our real substance or essence. In reality, there are qualities of health, from God, which we can never be separated from: wholeness, soundness, balance, order, sufficiency of substance, and permanence.

This spiritual health is part of our true inheritance. Yet, don't look for it in the physical scene or on the physical body, because it won't appear there until you put it there. Truth is invisible to the physical world of form, the world of falsity; yet, this truth still functions perfectly in the underlying spiritual realm. Always remember that no false belief ever reaches our true being. Sickness, sin, death, never really becomes a part of us, however much we may believe it does. That's because God is the only Authority in creation, not man. And healing of the outer world of form takes place as soon as consciousness accepts the spiritual truth as reality, and God's sovereignty over all, which utterly denies an existence apart from, and outside of, God's realm and control. No false belief ever CAN reach true being.

These truths are not something that can be forced upon another. Each must fight one's own battle in consciousness, until the light dawns, if only partially. Matter and Spirit are not friends; they are the cosmic enemies. One must submit to the other. Consciousness must be the master, not servant, of the physical form. In order to produce healing, matter must become the servant and yield to spiritual truth realized in consciousness. Nothing can stop healing, once consciousness is clear; for the form truly is the servant of mentality. Matter can have no laws of its own. All law is spiritual, not physical. Physics, as a science, must yield to metaphysics--God's science--as the only real knowledge and science. Every believed law of matter or physics yielded to the knowledge of Christ Jesus and those he taught, whether it was walking on the sea (law of gravity), healing disease (laws of cause and effect in matter) or raising the dead, like Lazarus (law of mortality). Matter has no laws, only universally shared beliefs.

Ultimately, through spiritual growth, and possibly on some distant shore in time, we will transform our physical bodies, through spiritual truth, from error to perfection, until the physical form disappears altogether, as Christ Jesus' body did in the ascension. This is the real way home…to translate from the entire falsity of material existence into spiritual reality. But don't become discouraged. Since we're really immortal, we have eternity to work this out, with no loss of time--for as the eternal sense of Scarlett O'Hara once said, "Tomorrow is another day."
