“Let this mind be in you which was
also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not
consider it robbery to be equal with God,” (Philippians 2:5 & 6; NKJV). “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” (Acts 17:28; KJV). “I will overturn,
overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it
is; and I will give it him.” (Ezekiel 21:27; King James Bible Version
(KJV). It is the end of March, here in the
Midwest, and Spring is coming. We know
this, despite our cloudy, cold, rainy weather today. We know this from all our past days of
fluctuating weather patterns. We know
this because this part of our planet has a pattern of four seasons, and the
warm, sunny weather is on its way. So,
despite what we see and feel from the
clouds of today, we know (from our inner sight and memory) that the sunny days
will arrive soon, and put us out of our gloomy-days misery. Here in the Midwest, we have learned to
be patient throughout our wintery days, simply because the cosmic weather patterns
of our universe are out of our control. The
order of the universe exists from laws and patterns that we didn’t create. It is a divine pattern, coming from a Mind
far greater than ours. So, we accept our
weather-woes because they are part of our material sense of existence, which
our physical sight reports to our five, material senses. In other words, what we know and expect comes
mostly from our material assessment
of our environment. Yet, despite the material scene before
our eyes, we also have an inner mental sight
of what to know and what to expect. The
clouds before our eyes don’t sway us because we know that behind them,
sunshine is on its way. We know that our
good days are ahead, despite our current physical vision that is reporting
otherwise. And this inner, mental sight
serves us in all times of disharmony and trouble and tells us that harmony and
order are on the way, even when we can’t physically perceive them yet. Since our weather patterns aren’t the
only negative situations we encounter in this human ‘condition’, everyone on
this planet experiences other types of troublesome times. We have sick times, poor times, tragic times,
and many other types of material challenges.
But unlike our weather patterns (that we have learned to understand and
prepare for), when other forms of disharmonies come into our human lives, we often
think, and feel, that our good times are not
going to heal or come back. We don’t see the remedy, or ‘way back’ to health,
supply, and harmony that we need to learn, in order to be whole and harmonious
again. But God does not lovingly care for us
in some situations and then leave us to suffer, without help, from the other discords
of this material experience. The Bible
says, “Doth a fountain
send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?” (James 3:11; King James Bible; KJV). The
answer is ‘no’. Divine Love is always
invisibly present to bring balance, harmony and order to everything that
concerns our daily lives. This belief that we are stuck with
illnesses, poverty, wars, pain, and other lacks of harmony, is not true at
all. God does not bless us with endlessly good
things in our lives, and then curse us with bad situations or take away our
health. Belief that we must suffer pain,
fear, depression, or even a sense of loneliness, because God has somehow
abandoned us, is absolutely false. Discord and lack of any good thing
never comes from God. All discords and
lacks come from our deepest beliefs in
these negative things. In this human
experience, we create our own heaven and our own hell. God did not create sickness. God did not create lack of supply. God did not lead us into wars, with our
neighbors, or with other countries.
Whatever BAD things have taken hold of us, God did not bring them forth
into the human, material condition. Our
own beliefs in evil and evil powers produce all the evil that is ever
materialized in the physical scene. God’s eternal harmony and sovereign
power is always ready, willing, and able to turn any wrongful condition back to
normalcy and harmony. Don’t take my word
for it. Concerning one occasion when a
centurion came to Jesus to heal his servant, the Bible tells us: “And Jesus said unto the
centurion, “Go thy way; and as thou hast believed,
so be it done unto thee.” And his
servant was healed in the selfsame hour.” (Matthew 8:13, KJV). At another time, Christ Jesus said to
the masses that followed him, “For verily
I say unto you, That whosoever
shall say unto this mountain, Be
thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe
that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever
he saith.” (Mark
11:23; KJV). What one believes was of vital
importance to the healing of bodies and conditions of those who came to Jesus,
and his disciples, for healing. The
reason beliefs are so important is because we control our own material bodies
and material environments by what we
believe to be true. We manifest (bring into material form) our
own deeply-held beliefs, because we are the only ones who determine our
earthly experience. We believe in disorder and disharmony
because, once some bad thing manifests into material form, we seem to have no mental
‘pattern’ where we know how to reverse the process back into our health, or
harmony. We don’t perceive the cosmic pattern (such as knowing the
pattern of our Earthly weather seasons) that actually governs our well-being,
even though return to our natural well-being is as sure and certain as the rest
of the order of the universe. Disease
isn’t normal. God has no diseased
children. Christ Jesus healed material bodies by
knowing that their true bodies, souls and minds were ever-lastingly spiritual…not
material. And God’s spiritual off-spring
are always whole and alive. That is what
‘the Christ’ is…it is our true Selfhood.
We are the spiritual, rather than material, children of God. Jesus came to bring that truth into the
collective beliefs of this planet, but the belief
in materiality is still quite universal in the collective consciousness. So, individuals come into the spiritual
reality of being as they transition in their own belief system. Yet, the good news is that right where
we seem to be physical beings, we are actually spiritual beings. When Christ Jesus went about healing and
teaching others to heal, he was trying to awaken humanity to its own divine
Selfhood. He healed the masses because
he knew there was no such thing as finite materiality. He knew that everyone was whole and healthy
in their true, spiritual identity. So,
from his awakened spiritual Selfhood, Christ Jesus knew there was never really
anything to heal. God’s spiritual kingdom
and children are eternally whole. But he
had to have his followers accept the
belief that spiritual healing was possible, before the material scene could
heal. Jesus played the part of a physical
being in order to come into this collective, physical plane of thought. Yet, he returned to his real, spiritual
identity when he ascended, demonstrating for humanity that it must awaken to
its true, spiritual sense of being and follow his path of spiritual
awakening. God’s children are always spiritual and
eternal, even while in the mortal dream of materiality and believing themselves
to be finite, fleshly mortal creatures.
And disease conditions can be healed in the manner of Christ Jesus and
his disciples because no one is really diseased, except in their own beliefs
of disease, which is a false state of being. Spiritual healing works for those who have
been healed by it. It works because we
are not really material beings to begin with. But the key to that kingdom is actual belief, not merely wishing. One must understand
spiritual healing, before abandoning all material ways of healing. A good rule is to go where your faith is.
If you believe in the world’s material healing, go with it. If you believe in wholistic, or other methods
of healing, go with them. For, wherever
you place your faith and trust, that’s what will work best for you. It’s true that we are God’s own spiritual
children, ever-lastingly whole and good; and once the belief in material sickness and death is thrown out of our
belief system, spiritual healing works. But
even the Master healer, Jesus, asked those who came to him for healing if they believed his method would work. And in one instant the Bible tells us that: “Now He did not do many
mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:58; NKJV). Now, besides sickness, poverty isn’t
normal either. The divine Mind is the
Source of all good, and all God’s children have their own supply forever. So, if you can, take this into your belief system
too: God’s spiritual creation is always abundant
and harmonious forever. And if the
divine Creator is able to supply our needs forever, this same God of Spirit can
certainly take care of our needs for human supply while we’re in this material
experience, or physical sense of being. All God’s children have their own…their own
supply, their own place in God’s purpose and creation, which is called, The Kingdom
of Heaven. We must perceive that since God never
created evil in any way, shape, or form, it does not exist as a reality. Only good is real. We must call forth our inner remembrance of
God’s ever-presence and sovereign power over all, and cease turning to everyone
and everything else we can think of to make ill-health and other threatening
human situations go away— when, what we need to uncover is the spiritual truth
of our own being, life, and health, that has always been in the hands and
spiritual domain of the Almighty, as surely as the planets move on their
appointed paths. Our saving grace, however, is in our inner sight which already knows the
cosmic, spiritual (not material) pattern of existence. Our inner, spiritual sight is always within
us, to remind us of the presence of God, the divine Mind, that is always
present and able to over-turn and repair
whatever seems to be a threat to our well-being, in this material sense of
being. This inner knowledge that reminds
us of God’s presence and power is often referred to as the ‘Christ Consciousness,’ because it is the all-knowing, all-seeing Mind
of God, of which we are all a part. Our
innate memory of God’s ever-present, harmonious universe, has never left
us. But we must humanly know this spiritual
truth of being, before it fully awakens us from the dream of materiality. And although our physical sight and
material circumstances may not be presenting this in our physical view of
things at any one time, the collective Christ Consciousness carries this
knowledge of God’s divine authority over all creation, within the deepest
memories of our being. So, despite our
sense of being alone with our human miseries, this universal Christ
Consciousness only seems to be
sleeping within us; for it is wide awake and never out of reach, when we turn
our thoughts within and call it forth. The Bible tells us to “Let this mind be in you which was
also in Christ Jesus.” (See 2nd quotation at top of article).
This statement means: allow this mind to be active within you. Let this universal Christ Consciousness
unfold what you need to know from within your sleeping memory, because we are
all at one with our God-Source, who knows all spiritual Truth. This quiet, mental voice within will let you know what to do and where
to go, in order to right every wrong. It
will never lead you to some destructive action.
In quick time, often minutes, a thought will come forward in your
consciousness that answers and guides you.
You will also feel a peace inside that takes away anxiety over whatever
disturbs you. At that time, when you
feel that peace wash over you, the healing of whatever is wrong has already
begun; and the clouds of material sense begin to fade into the sunlight of
God’s eternal Love. |
